HA! you guys thought I forgot about the Kompendium, didn't you? This is the last drawing I was working on before I got burned out months ago, so I just put the finishing touches on it, and voila!
Kutlass was exclusive to DKC2, but his design looks like the inspiration for Kopter in DKC3. This little guy couldn't be attacked head on. Instead, you had to wait for him to get his swords stuck in the ground before you could bop him on the head. There is also a green version of Kutlass who was faster than the yellow one.
I've been playing One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 lately, so I decided to give him a red vest in this illustration as a small reference to Luffy. I also tried giving him a third sword as a Zoro homage, but that just didn't work out.
